Shabnam Adnam

Shabnam is a lecturer in Initial Teacher Education where her specialist areas are, Race, Diversity and Inclusion. She is a part of the Anti-Racist steering group for Go Higher West Yorkshire and is a coach for the Centre for Race, Education and Decoloniality, supporting schools in achieving their Antiracist School Award. Shabnam is also the Anti Racist Education Lead for Anti-Racist Cumbria and supports schools across the region.
She is passionate about authenticity, equity, and empowerment and has been in primary education for over 20 years, serving diverse communities as as a class teacher, SENDCo, Head Teacher, Governor and Trustee.
