In the spirit of fostering innovation and shaping the future of education, we are thrilled to introduce the distinguished jury for the inaugural Youth Design Challenge. These visionary leaders in the field of education will play a pivotal role in evaluating submissions from 80 participants from 30+ countries in the challenge.

What is the Planetizen University Youth Design Challenge?
Planetizen University aims at co-constructing a learning institution which equips and recognises individuals as lifelong, collaborative learners able to tackle global challenges together. In this first design challenge, youth participants will be able to contribute to the development of PU and pitch their dream learning programmes for the university of the future!

The results will be announced as part of the Building a Planetizen University Session at LearningPlanet Festival on 25 January 15:00 CET . Don’t miss it!

  • Alysha Alva, Global Head of Public Relations, AIESEC
    Alysha’s passion stems from here desire to make a positive change in the world we live in today. Through her work in AIESEC, she is interested very interested in the intersection between media, marketing, business and social impact and education.
  • Asli Derya, Head of Learning Design for Cambridge Advance Online 
    Asli has over 10 years’ experience working in the learning space with extensive knowledge of learning design and digital learning. Previously she worked with in-house corporate learning and development (L&D) teams, including one of the Big Four consulting firms.
  • Dr Sabine Becker-Thierry, Executive Officer in the Office of the Rector at the United Nations University
    Sabine works directly with the Rector in the day-to-day management of the University and in the implementation of key institutional priorities. Sabine also serves as Secretary of the University’s Governing Board, the UNU Council.
  • Francois Taddei, CEO, Learning Planet Institute 
    François advocates for large-scale collaboration to build with the support of UNESCO a Learning Planet and the development of learning communities that work together to find sustainable solutions for the sectors of education and health as well as toward achieving the SDGs.
  • Ji Mi ChoiExecutive Director, I-Corps: Desert and Pacific Region, Arizona State University
    Ji Mi serves as the director of the ASU-led, NSF-funded I-Corps Hub: Desert and Pacific Region leading seven other university partners in the $15M program.
  • Jason Cohen, Co-Founder, KidsforSDGs
    Jason is a long-time management consultant, world traveler, and lifelong learner. A graduate of The School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University and the School of Advanced International Studies and Johns Hopkins University, he is passionate about international affairs and the positive role of education and economic links in promoting international peace and stability.
  • Michael Backlund, President, ClimateScience
    Climate Activist and Striker on a mission to educate the world on climate change!
  • Osaretin Osadolor, Director of Wellbeing and Diversity, African Leadership University
    Osaretin thrives on storytelling, drawing from a childhood immersed in tales and literature. Her approach revolves around listening to people’s narratives and leveraging these stories to craft empathetic, sustainable experiences.
  • Pavel Luksha, Founder, Global Education Futures
    Pavel is a system scientist, change catalyst, and facilitator. He is Founder of Global Education Futures and the School of Evolutionary Leadership, and a co-founder of The Weaving Lab, Living Cities Earth, and several other movements dedicated to better human- and planet-centered future.
  • Sebastian Berger, President, Global Student Forum
    Sebastian is the Executive Director of the Global Student Forum. He previously held the office of Vice President in the European Students’ Union (ESU) and was a founding member of the GSF Steering Committee.
