On World Children’s Day, what could be a more fitting occasion than discussing the importance of collaboration across generations?
Just this week, the LearningPlanet Alliance co-organised a workshop putting into action the “Uniting Generations and Sharing Power Guide” which includes a checklist for making all events intergenerational.
Output: We applied the guide to a series of events that will form part of an intergenerational track of the LearningPlanet Festival this January. Thanks to all participants aswell as co-organisers at Big Change, Cambridge Partnership for Education, LearningPlanet, Salzburg Global Seminar and YouthxYouth for your collaboration!
Events we explored over the workshop…
- The Planetizen University Design Challenge: gathering solutions to build thriving, community-drive and sustainable universities!
- YouthxYouth Learning Festival, inviting education activists and allies of ALL ages to engage in sensemaking, radical reimagination, and collective action around the guiding learning question: What & How do we need to know, live, and weave to create the world of our deepest longing?”
- Big Education Conversation : A relay of conversations on education across the world!
- Salzburg Global Seminar learning programs: residency programs on influencing systems transformation efforts by developing new approaches to critical and emerging issues. It was here that the seed for the Uniting Generations Guide was planted, at the Transforming Education Co-Action Summit!
- We also hosted 2 ‘wildcard’ groups, applying the ideas of the guide to imagine new events for education transformation, including an intergenerational arts x learning festival, and mainstreaming Peace Education!
