“For decades now we have been talking about sustainability and we seem to make little progress in putting this vision into practice. We seem like flies buzzing inside a bottle, unable to find our way out.” (Lois Holzman, Alive in the Anthropocene 2021)
We gather at the Learning Planet Festival to “unite to transform education.” Some, like us at ESI and Alive at the Anthropocene, call for a radical reorganization of the foundation of what we mean by learning. Policy and institutional change are necessary but unwieldy. It feels discouraging to wait for the dinosaurs to get moving. We say: the revolution starts now. It is enfolded in minute, conscious or semiconscious changes in our daily routines. In that hairline crack hides the potential of another world.
Join us
for an exploration of play and performance as a methodology for getting out of the fly bottle.
Discover
an approach where moving forward does not depend on knowing, but on direct, activity-based interaction with the world.
In this workshop we will explore:
–Different forms of imagination
–Micro-experiments to lure us into new learning experiences
–Ways to experience the fluidity of cognition/emotion
–Non-knowing growing
