This session will be an open conversation about and with builders of Let’s Learn! , a free global community-engaged, internet-enabled educational project of Lloyd International Honors College of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in collaboration with the East Side Institute. Its informal slogan is: “Everyone has something to learn. Everyone has something to teach.”
Let’s Learn! is an experiment in lifelong learning with students ranging in age from their teens to elders. It is intergenerational and multi-cultural and has been brought into being through an international grassroots network of innovative educators and community organizers who recognize the value of informal learning-and-development environments as spaces where everyone, both traditionally educated and non-educated, can thrive as world citizen learners and teachers. The more diverse the group the greater likelihood of discovery, creativity and learning.
The conversation will be initiated by founders Dr. Omar Ali and Dr. Dan Friedman, along with Let’s Learn! teachers and students. It will cover the founding of Let’s Learn! during the pandemic, share the challenges of building an international network, and highlight the learning and teaching experiences of those involved. The conversation will be open to questions and comments from other participants throughout
