Welcome to Artivism!

Artivism is a youth-led non-profit that maximizes the perspective-changing potential of activism art to drive societal change.

We do this by building a platform for budding creators to gain publicity. We share artivists’ (artist + activist) stories and processes; we connect their work with relevant causes to boost reach and impact.

At the Festival, this event will first walk through some seminal works of art that advanced social and cultural justice movements throughout history to establish a genre of activism art. We will then discuss current modes of arts education or systems like the “young artist pipeline” that lack flexible opportunities for exposure and impact. To finish, we will brainstorm alternate solutions and look at Artivism’s experimental setup as a reference.

Want to bounce-off ideas together, get featured on Artivism’s platform, or become a co-founder of our team? Join the event to find out more!

The Founder of Artivism, Katherine Chong, is a Learning Planet Youth Fellow. For more information about her, please visit her bio below.
