Head of Strategic Partnerships and Capabilities
Sarah Beardmore heads the Global Partnership for Education’s Strategic Partnerships and Capabilities team where she develops multi-stakeholder strategies and initiatives to address cross-sectoral challenges to children’s well-being and education, including climate change, school nutrition, and violence. She currently leads GPE’s work to support Climate Smart Education Systems, including its technical assistance facility and climate finance initiatives. Sarah has over 20 years of international experience including a decade as an advocacy specialist and civil society accountability funder, leading on policy advocacy and resource mobilization for child rights, economic justice, gender equality, maternal health and indigenous rights. With a BA degree in Sociology from McGill University and MSc in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics, Sarah also has training in plant medicine and lends her time to ecological conservation, food sovereignty and outdoor education in the US and Canada.
