Sabine Becker-Thierry
Director, Paris Office @ United Nations University
Dr Sabine Becker-Thierry is Director of the United Nations University (UNU) Paris Office, where she works at the intersection of education, research, and policy to address global challenges through learning and knowledge co-creation. She leads strategic partnerships with UNESCO, OECD, academic institutions, civil society, and the private sector, with a focus on rethinking education for an era of rapid technological, social, and planetary change. Previously, she served as Executive Officer and Chief of Staff to the UNU Rector, advising on global governance, foresight, and institutional reform across UNU’s worldwide research network. Drawing on a career spanning evaluation, development cooperation, and organisational change notably within the UN system, she brings a systems and future-oriented perspective to debates on transformative, inclusive, and learner-centred education.
