Jean Arkedis

Head of Research @ Teach For All

Jean Arkedis is the Head of Research at Teach For All where she leads the research and learning agenda focused on understanding how to grow collective leadership and the role of collective leadership in transforming education systems. Throughout her career, she has focused on using research and data to enable health and education change-makers to learn and improve their impact. This included research on improving access to effective malaria and pneumonia treatment and diagnosis rural East Africa, evaluating programming to improve literacy among middle schoolers in Sierra Leone, and working with communities to reduce deaths during childbirth in Tanzania and Indonesia, among others. She has worked for a number of organizations throughout her career, including the U.S. Department of State, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Results for Development, and Teach For All. Through work and study, she has lived in Tanzania, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, France, and Italy. Currently, Jean lives outside of Boston, Massachusetts with her husband and three children.
