Hidaya Benouda Tlemçani
Head of Marketing and Public Relations @ World Youth Leaders Organisation
Not a usual Moroccan student.
Of Course, I study smartly and do my job properly, know how to manage my time, and get it all done. But my talents and abilities extend beyond my school (the National School of Commerce and Management of USMBA) and studies. I’m also an experienced volunteer, a passionate MUNer, a great public speaker, and an inspiring team leader.
My background: coming from a family of volunteers, I have grown up in an environment that encourages all acts of selflessness and community benefit. I have started my first non-profit school club when I was 9 years old only. We aimed to teach our fellow students to preserve our environment and I have been able to do it successfully as we have been able to see actual change in everyone’s behavior. In the same year, I got the chance to participate in Al-Bawasil Camp for children with diabetes in Qatar. It resonated with me and I discovered my love to meet up with other people from different nationalities. One year later, I had the chance to go to Al-Basma camp for children with diabetes in the UAE. It did widen my perspectives regarding a lot of things.
At the age of 12, I started volunteering in the kids club of Al-Amal association. Two years later, I volunteered for the “Put your Mark” charity club.
In early 2021, I discovered my passion for Model United Nations conferences after participating in my first conference and winning a great award. I have participated in a total of 16 conferences (with 8 high-ranking awards) as a delegate, chair, or organizing committee member.
Now, I head up the public relations and marketing team of the World Youth Leaders Organization; we aim to empower the youth of today into leaders of tomorrow. I also am an active member of the Youth Policy Center; a Think and Do Tank with the goal of engaging youth more in the decision-making field. In addition to being a senior mentor in the Youth Leaders Programme; the flagship project of WYLO.
In a nutshell, my passion for volunteering and public speaking is coupled with big-picture planning and operational management. I’m not a student who just wants to get a diploma. I’m a student who wants to leave an impact on her community, country, and the world. This is what I do best and love most especially when it involves personal growth in the process.
