Edith Chan is the Founder of Mission Aquavate and Sustainability Student Society. She avidly promotes marine conservation through the lenses of science and economics.
Edith’s environmental conservation awareness kicked in when she went to a beach for a relaxing swim, and found herself immersed in a gulf of garbage. Due to the non-degradable nature of plastic, she wondered how it impacted marine organisms and their habitats.
In the long run, she plans to initiate a green tech startup or work as the founder of an eco-engineering firm, with hopes of utilizing her entrepreneurial skills to protect the ocean.
