Claire Wai
Youth Advocate @ Disability Rights and Accessibility
Claire Wai is a student dedicated to immersing herself within wider society and engaging with issues that need to be addressed and have been overlooked. From exploitative cobalt mining in the DRC, to marginalisation of ethnic minorities, she has always been troubled by how seemingly arbitrary factors determine one’s life.
She is passionate about disability rights and accessibility, and its implications on resources, children’s education and harmful stigmas, and amplifies her passions through voluntary work and research.
Claire values translating academic, research skills into the realm of practical application and societal impact, a rewarding necessity for youths today.
