Christine O’Kelly leads the Age-Friendly University Initiative at Dublin City University.
She led the development of the AFU Global Network from 2013 to 2023, expanding the network from two universities to over 100 universities representing Europe, North and South America, South East Asia, and Australia.
Ms O’Kelly is an expert on age-friendly universities, a WHO Age-Friendly mentor, and a passionate advocate, championing issues affecting older people globally. She leads the AFU Programme at DCU and is in the final stages of completing a Doctorate in Education (Eddoc), focusing on leadership and the factors and process of becoming an age-friendly university.
