Benjamin Van Bunderen Robberechts, a 17-year-old Belgian activist, is a passionate advocate for climate and children’s rights. At 14, he founded Climate Justice for Rosa to emphasize the climate crisis as an urgent, life-or-death issue. His activism began at 11, inspired by school climate strikes and the belief in youth-driven change.
Ben’s mission became deeply personal after the tragic loss of his friend Rosa, who drowned in the devastating Western European floods of 2021 that claimed 220 lives. This heartbreak solidified his resolve to prevent further tragedies caused by climate negligence. Through his campaign, Ben humanizes the climate crisis.
