Azucena Castro

Azucena Castro is an assistant professor at Rice University in Texas. She developed her work on multispecies justice and decolonial futures at the Stockholm Resilience Centre in Sweden, Stanford University in California, and the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. She grew up in Hernando, an agricultural town in the central Argentinian pampas of the CĂłrdoba province. She edited the book Multispecies Futures: Kin-Making Practices for Planetary Emergency (Bartlebooth, 2023) and is the author of Poetic Postnatures: Ecological Thinking and Politics of Strangeness in Contemporary Latin American Poetry (De Gruyter, 2025).
