Professor Anne Mc Lennan is a Senior Research Manager at SmartStart and a visiting associate professor at the Wits School of Governance. An academic and practitioner, she draws on her knowledge of politics of education service delivery and institutional change to identify routines and practices that enable redistribution and social inclusion. Over her 30-plus year career, she has combined academic work with designing, managing, and implementing institutional change programmes with government departments, universities, and NGOs. She has also served as senior manager in government and led a collaborative NGO team that embedded education change programmes in two South African provinces.
