Amisa Rashid, a multiple award-winning figure and part of the 100 most influential young Africans of 2021, is a counseling psychologist and dedicated mental health advocate. Hailing from Kenya’s ethnically marginalized Nubian community and raised in Kibra, one of Kenya’s largest informal settlements, she founded the Nivishe Foundation. The organization is a response to health disparities, focusing on community-based mental health interventions, innovations, approaches and trauma-informed approaches, striving for resilient societies. Amisa has been appointed as the first community health expert on matters Mental Health by EnableMe which is a global platform for people with disability.
