Connected Learning, Empowered Youth by Friendship Bangladesh

Connected Learning, Empowered Youth, organised by Friendship, engaged over 1,400 students from 40 schools across Bangladesh, France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and Switzerland. Across classrooms and hybrid formats, the event launched the fourth phase of the Inter-School Connectivity Project and discussed climate change and cross-cultural collaboration.

Normalizing sexuality education in India by SHEF

The Study Hall Educational Foundation (SHEF) in India organised sessions on its Life Plan Program and Normalising Sexuality Education bringing together over 520 participants on Zoom, alongside 4,000 girls from marginalised communities joining from classrooms across remote villages in Uttar Pradesh. These sessions created space for students, teachers, and parents to challenge taboos, share personal experiences, and explore pathways for girls to envision and pursue futures of their own choosing. 

UN at your Doorstep on Quality Education: Opening of LearningPlanet Festival 2025

A youth-led session, UN at your Doorstep, organised by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN) brought together UN leaders, changemakers, and youth to explore how education can advance social inclusion, peace, and sustainability.

UNESCO Chair Session: Cultivating the next generation of young peacebuilders

The UNESCO Chair Session on Cultivating the next generation of young peacebuilders explored how peace education can create lasting positive peace by empowering youth as changemakers in conflict transformation. With speakers including Dr Rina Alluri (University of Innsbruck), Christopher Castle (UNESCO), Pavel Luksha (Global Education Futures), and Candice Mama (author), the panel discussion brought together perspectives from academia, international organisations, and practice.

Announcing the finalists of the Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge 2024-25

At the LearningPlanet Festival 2025, the finalists of the Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge 2024-25 were announced. From 1,016 participants across 105 countries and 270 submissions, 12 finalists were selected, presenting projects ranging from inclusive education for the visually impaired in Bangladesh to community gardens in Mexico, skin-colour awareness in India, ethical tech education for girls in Afghanistan, and youth-led initiatives on resilience and digital well-being. A jury shared feedback, and the community explored ways to support and amplify the projects’ impact.

Can We Learn Ethics from AI?

"Embark on a journey into the ethical dimension of Large Language Models (LLMs). LLMs are artificial intelligence systems that serve as the foundation for various conversational agents like ChatGPT. They generate responses that can be morally evaluated. In this panel session we will discuss if we can learn ethics from LLMs as citizens of the planet (Planetizens).
