FoodSave is an all-in-one smart food assistant app that makes food management effortless, rewarding, and educational, encouraging proper consumption and fostering a culture of sustainability which helps solve food waste. Firstly, this is done through a smart inventory that can instantly log expiry dates with image recognition. Based on this inventory, we provide an AI recipe function for your soon-to-expire ingredients. Furthermore, we utilise a custom notifications system to act as expiry alerts reminding you to consume before your food spoils, depending on its shelf life. On that note, FoodSave also has a pointing system that rewards you for your sustainable practices by redeeming coupons and discount codes from online international food partners. The app was selected for presentation at the UN Food and Agricultural Organisation World Food Forum 2025.
