The Door of Return is a week-long Theatre That Reconnects learning journey in Senegal, weaving embodied practice, collective storytelling, and intercultural dialogue. Through Forum Theatre, Rainbow of Desire, Dragon Dreaming, and The Work That Reconnects, participants explore how deep ecology, ancestral memory, and social dynamics can shape transformative theatre-making. The journey includes a 5-day masterclass with Uri Noy Meir (20–24 January), site-based exploration of Gorée Island and collaborative devising sessions leading toward the creation of a performance for the Breathing Together Festival (30 January – 2 February).
In response to requests from practitioners across the wider field, and made possible through collective support, selected workshop sessions and conversation circles will also be accessible through a hybrid participation pathway, with live broadcast enabling participation from afar (more details on this soon).
