Science Vortex of the Verde Valley – The Hidden Gem of Discovery Learning

Learn about this hidden gem in one of the most beautiful valleys of Arizona. Created by a STEM specialist and formal educator, Science Vortex brings discovery learning to rural youth and families that live far from the resources common to urban areas. This virtual tour with the creator and director, Laurie Altringer, will showcase the ways that dedication, perseverance, and networking can be used to create a center that makes learning about science fun. This online event will be hosted by Kal Mannis, Project Director of the Rural Activation and Innovation Network and Senior Director for Rural Engagement with the Arizona Science Center. The broadcast will be live streamed on the STEM Leadership Cadre of Arizona’s STEM Showcase page – registration is required.
