Community Climate Clubs (CCC) turn climate anxiety into climate agency by giving students a practical, mentored pathway from concern to collective action.
In this one-hour moderated fireside chat, we’ll explore CCC through a concrete use case: launching a local club ecosystem with the IEEE Student Branch at VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology (Hyderabad). We’ll discuss how CCCs organize student-led, real-world capstone projects that are designed to be cumulative—each cohort builds on previous work—so impact grows over time rather than resetting each semester.
A key focus will be coordination at scale: how distributed teams collaborate across campus, city, and partners using an “AI Conductor” approach that supports asynchronous workflows, documentation, handoffs, and continuity. We’ll share the Hyderabad context, likely roadblocks, and the practical steps to stand up a CCC pilot that is replicable across other institutions.
Moderator: Gaël Van Weyenbergh (Intergenerational Cooperation Network, IEEE SSIT SUSTainability)
Speakers: Malcolm Knapp (Finding the Future; CCC co-lead) and Srikar Burugula (IEEE Student Branch, VNRVJIET)
