At the Learning Planet Festival 2026, co-organized by UNESCO and UN University, this session spotlights how young people are redefining global economics for an inclusive, sustainable future. From digital trade policy to behavioral development economics and impact investing, youth are not passive learners—they’re active innovators.
Led by a member of our Global Executive Team, Mr. Jayden Tu, a digital native himself, youth understand the real-world challenges of cross-border data flows and advocate for fair e-commerce that empowers small businesses globally. By applying behavioral insights, they can design “nudge units” that drive social progress at low cost. Meanwhile, youth-led impact investing is channeling values-driven capital toward climate action, education, and equitable growth.
On the public side, participatory budgeting and fiscal transparency offer direct entry points for young citizens to shape how cities spend and tax responsibly. Through dynamic dialogue, this showcase celebrates youth as architects of a more just, data-smart, and purpose-driven economic future.
