In celebration of UNESCO’s World Education Day 2026, Bond of Nature Association (BONA) invites global youth advocates, educators, and environmental leaders to explore innovative ways of connecting families and teenagers with nature through outdoor education and sustainability practices.
Led by Muzhi Fang and Shane Zhang, as a British Columbia–based non-profit, BONA promotes healthier, safer, and more environmentally friendly outdoor experiences while fostering a deep sense of responsibility for our shared planet.
This session will showcase BONA’s community-driven programs across Greater Vancouver and beyond, highlighting how outdoor learning builds environmental literacy, cultural appreciation, and intergenerational collaboration.
Participants will advance the “for people and planet” philosophy of Learning Planet Institute on integrating nature-based education with ecological stewardship, reflecting UNESCO’s priorities for sustainable development, biodiversity preservation, and youth empowerment.
Together, we will reimagine how outdoor organizations can bridge the gap between biodiversity awareness and behavioral change, creating a blueprint for a more balanced and biodiverse future.
