In 2024 and early 2025, our planet witnessed the highest number of armed conflicts since 1946, some between states possessing nuclear weapons. Peace is no longer merely an aspiration; it has become a condition for our collective survival.
It is in this urgent context that we present the Atlas of Peaceful Futures Practices — a living guide and innovative resource designed to equip, inspire, and empower emerging leaders and peacebuilders worldwide. The Atlas lies at the very heart of the Peaceful Futures Programme, a joint initiative of the Learning Planet Institute and Global Education Futures, together with international partners, to empower future young artisans of peace worldwide. As a living, co-created resource intended primarily for young leaders and educators who are imagining and building peaceful futures in their communities, the Atlas seeks to support transformative practices for more peaceful and sustainable societies.
This session invites educators, researchers, artists, social entrepreneurs, institutional decision-makers, and young leaders to both explore the Atlas and co-design its next iterations. Together, we will envision pathways toward peaceful futures and identify how the Atlas can best serve global communities.
You can access the Atlas here prior to the event.
