Artificial intelligence has existed since the 1950s; however, its recent popularity, since the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022, has raised significant conversations on the future of education. This session aims to champion teaching and learning in the AI marketplace. The Augmented Teacher group emerged from the Salzburg Future of Teaching organised by Salzburg Global in December 2024. The augmented teacher group hopes to map out key teaching activities that leverage AI tools through success stories and the applications of AI in the workplace shared by a network of teachers. Here, we refer to the network of teachers as our AI Champions. We hope to identify and recruit champions to help improve the teaching and learning process in a complex and rapidly changing society. If you are currently using AI in your classroom to support student learning or the work you do as a teacher, we would love to have you come and share with others at this session.
