Anyone can say they have a new paradigm, but everything thrown at the mainstream has so far bounced off leaving behind only trivial traces of their existence within the system. A more resilient paradigm is needed to have widespread and sustainable effects on our current (distressed) learning ecosystems. Having a strong scientific foundation is the best assurance that the paradigm has the resilience to withstand the inevitable bureaucratic resistance that will arise when it enters the mainstream. Don Berg, Executive Director of Deeper Learning Advocates, will briefly present an introduction to the Catalytic Pedagogy paradigm and how it has been developed over the past decade. The Catalytic Pedagogy paradigm (also known as Back-to-Basics 2.0) is based on the science of Self-Determination Theory, the most thoroughly supported model of human motivation in the world today. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, make comments, and discuss the proposed paradigm after they downloaded the handout (Handout Link: https://www.holisticequity.org/learning-planet-festival-2025.html).
