This session is for educators who wish to discuss the role that early learning and quality of educational settings play in supporting child and family development. The unique selling point for this panel is the fact the discussion will be collectively drawn from a breadth of skills perspective, not standards, with the recognition that learning needs to be personalised based on culture, community, parents, and that globally more momentum is needed around the idea of child centred quality.

The lead discussants have all been part of Salzburg Global Seminar's Education Policymakers Network, which brought together policy makers from 21 different education systems to learn and share ideas around the advocacy and implementation of a breadth of skills approach to education. The initial discussion will focus on how, for optimal educational outcomes, children need to have the space to grow and thrive physically, emotionally, spiritually, and cognitively. The knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired by learners enhances their creative and critical thinking skills which enable them to address challenges of the 21st century and mitigate climate challenges.
