Yasmine Sherif is the Executive Director of Education Cannot Wait (ECW), the global fund for education in emergencies and protracted crises. A lawyer with expertise in International Humanitarian and Human Rights Law, she brings over 30 years of experience with the United Nations and international NGOs. Ms. Sherif has worked in crisis zones like Afghanistan, the Middle East, the Balkans, and Sudan, leading efforts in humanitarian action, rule of law, and socio-economic development. She joined ECW in 2017, establishing its Secretariat and mobilizing over $1 billion in funding, supporting education for children and youth in 35 crisis-affected countries.
