Advisor to the Secretary-General on Education Innovation @ Ministry of Education & Research of Estonia
Sten Kapten’s present work allows him to be informed of the prevalent trends in education and beyond in the broader context of development vis-a-vis society and technology. He advises on current challenges and future trends in Estonia and abroad. In terms of hands-on involvement, he currently heads and participates in various work groups that deal with many of the challenging problems of our times in the domain — from teacher shortage and the direction of the Estonian education model, to the effects of AI on education and the notion of mass personalized learning. He has an academic background that encompasses philosophy, economics, educational sciences, and policy studies. He is very much looking forward to understanding more about the challenges of the Global South and hopes to be able to offer insight that can be of benefit.
