Rina Malagayo Alluri
Assistant Professor / UNESCO Chairholder of Peace Studies @ University of Innsbruck
Rina Malagayo Alluri co-leads an international interdisciplinary master’s program and research on social-emotional learning, critical peace education, coloniality and decoloniality, gender and intersectionality, positionality and reflexivity, identity and belonging, transnational diasporas, and business and peace.
Rina’s PhD focused on the role of economic actors in post-war Sri Lanka, while her postdoctoral research examined the political engagement of the transnational Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora in Switzerland. With extensive experience in international peacebuilding NGOs and consultancies, she worked in Myanmar, Rwanda, Ethiopia, and South Africa.
Rina is a Salzburg Global Fellow (Asia Peace Innovators Forum) and serves on the DEI Advisory Board.
