Prof Rika Preiser, an Associate Professor at Stellenbosch University, South Africa is a UNESCO Chair holder in “Complexity and Transformative African Futures” and a full member of the Club of Rome. Her research focuses on engaged philosophy and combines Complex Adaptive Systems science, social-ecological research, environmental philosophy, and ethics to address challenges in sustainable development challenges, complex human-nature relations, social justice, and ethics. She actively collaborates with decision-makers, communities, NGOs, and para-statal organizations, conducting project-based and solution-driven sustainability research in Southern Africa.
