Pooja Khurana
Project Officer for ECS Project | Community Manager @ Marie Curie Alumni Association
Pooja is a Stem Cell Scientist and Developmental Biologist. She has worked across disciplines in scientifically diverse environments in India, Germany, Hungary, and England where she attained her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences (University of Southampton) and received the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowship.
Following postdoctoral research at the University of Hawaiʻi (USA) in 2022, she has volunteered for social causes including environmental sustainability at the Global Crisis Response (India) as an Outreach Coordinator; menstrual poverty at The Pad Project (U.S.A) as a Public Health Advisor; and a Founding Member of a virtual peer-support group, Therapy Thursday (U.S.A).
Within the Marie Curie Alumni Association (MCAA), she works as an Editor, a Project Officer for the European Citizen Science (ECS), and as a Community Manager.
Pooja aspires to combine scientific vigour and public outreach skills with a quest to attain true inclusivity, social well-being, and menstrual equity while focusing on public engagement.
