Director of KNU Language Center @ Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv
Olga Yashenkova, PhD, is Director of the Center for Foreign Languages and Associate Professor in the
Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication at Taras Shevchenko National
University of Kyiv. She also serves as an Expert in Educational Program Accreditation with Ukraine’s
National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. Her research interests include communicative
linguistics, pragmalinguistics, business discourse, intercultural communication, 21st-century skills,
educational innovation, COIL, and authentic assessment. She designs and facilitates COIL projects that
integrate social-emotional and action learning to strengthen democratic competences and intercultural
