Nila Ibrahimi

Young Leader for the SDGs and Co-Founder @ United Nations and HerStory

Nila Ibrahimi is a youth activist and advocate for the rights of Afghan girls and displaced youth. She is the co-founder of HerStory, a storytelling initiative amplifying the voices of Afghan girls across Afghanistan and the diaspora. At 13, she led a campaign that overturned a government ban preventing Afghan girls from singing in public, marking the start of her advocacy for education and gender equality. After fleeing Afghanistan, Nila resettled in Canada and continues to represent displaced communities on global stages. She is a recipient of the International Children’s Peace Prize and a UN Young Leader for the SDGs.
