Freshman (Student) @ Camosun College
Ania Emilia Zalapa is a first-year student in the Environmental Technology program at Camosun College. She recently graduated from high school, where she co-led the Belmont Environmental Education and Stewardship (BEES) Club. Through hands-on activities such as planting native trees and shrubs, the club encouraged students to engage in environmental action and connect with nature. Ania Emilia also co-organized an Earth Day exhibition that brought community organizations into the school. She volunteers with the Greater Victoria Green Team, participating in invasive species removal and leading litter clean-ups, strengthening her commitment to accessible environmental action and collaboration.
