The Free Democratic School is an elementary school serving nearly 800 students from grades 1-9, with over 700 of them engaged in homeschooling. Without constant supervision or structured stimuli, we offer an environment for a proven model of self-directed learning and free play. This approach is rooted in a century of experience from Summerhill School in England, along with the latest insights from pedagogy, psychology, and neuroscience. We guide children through a journey of freedom and inclusion, nurturing intrinsic motivation and ensuring ample time outdoors. Our mission extends beyond education; we aim to demonstrate that learning can be both joyful and liberating. Additionally, we believe democracy is not only a value to cherish and protect but one we must actively uphold and advocate for each day.
