Inclusive education should remain a strategic priority for Europe, essential for social cohesion, economic competitiveness, and safeguarding youth rights. As the EU designs the 2028–2034 budget, proposals to streamline programmes and increase flexibility offer opportunities to direct targeted investment toward barriers affecting disadvantaged groups. Civil society, led by the EU Alliance for Investing in Children, calls for a stronger fight against child poverty, reinforced implementation of the European Child Guarantee, and adequate funding for key services such as education, health, housing, nutrition, and care. Evidence from the SIRIUS Watch 2025 and its Migrant Education Policy Index highlights ongoing inequalities and the need for culturally and linguistically responsive systems. Salesian organisations demonstrate effective inclusive practices through long‑standing education and youth empowerment programs. Together, these insights support a call to make inclusive education a clear EU budget priority, backed by coordinated policy and meaningful participation of children and families.
