The workshop is designed to provide participants with an in-depth understanding of refugee education policies through an innovative and interactive approach. This workshop combines hands-on simulation exercises and critical discussions to foster awareness and equip participants with practical skills to navigate and influence refugee education policies. In the workshop, we will use a policy card-game which developed by Learning and Educating Across Refugee/(Im)migrant Networks (LEARN) at Arizona State University.
The workshop is structured to simulate real-world parliamentary decision-making processes that shape refugee education policies. Participants will experience the complexities involved in formulating education policies for refugees, considering the social, cultural, economic, and political factors that impact refugees' access to education. The workshop aims to engage educators, researchers, policy-makers, and advocates by enabling them to analyze existing policies, propose improvements, and foster inclusive and equitable approaches to refugee education.
