Three Fellows and Alumni from the Salzburg Academy on Media & Global Change present to us a screening of the documentary, Remarkable: Voices from the Trans Community, created by Logan Ward, followed by a dialogue with designer Hamza Vakharia, and Molly Rowan Leach, founder and host of the podcast Restorative Justice on the Rise. The film discusses the media’s role in disintegrating public trust towards the trans community and the potential benefits of centering the trans community moving forward. The dialogue that follows will speak to the act of strengthening community and will touch upon areas of opportunity presented by virtual media spaces. We will imagine together how restorative practices may help us develop healthier online communities that encourage truth and safety. And we will open up space for the audience members to give input on how we can reduce isolation and nurture a sense of belonging.
