Dominant narratives of success often recognise a few paths, leaving many especially those at the margins behind, unseen or unsupported. This 90 minutes, youth-led session invites educators, practitioners, and young people across ages into a reflective exploration of how success is defined, performed, and unevenly experienced within education systems.
Co-facilitated by two young people and facilitator from Dream a Dream, the session uses lived experiences, and collective exploration to examine what the definitions of success asks of individuals and what it costs. Through guided reflection and experiential activities, you are invited to notice patterns of definitions of success and to explore how access, belonging, and the expectations we internalise shape how success is understood and lived.
Because the way we define success shapes the systems we design, fund, and pass on often more than we realise, this session offers a moment to rethink what we are collectively sustaining.
This is not a panel, and it is not a space for quick solutions. It is an invitation to slow down, listen differently, and begin to redefine success in ways that centre dignity, care, and the conditions young people need to truly thrive.
