In a world facing escalating tensions and unprecedented global challenges, cultivating peace can no longer remain a distant ambition — it must become an everyday practice. Building on the Atlas of Peaceful Futures Practices, this session focuses on translating the Atlas’s insights and inspirations into daily habits and actions that shape communities, institutions, and classrooms.
As part of the Peaceful Futures Programme — a joint initiative of the Learning Planet Institute and Global Education Futures, together with international partners — this panel explores how the Atlas can serve as both a compass and a catalyst for embedding peacebuilding into everyday life. Experts, educators, and young artisans of peace will share how they have integrated peaceful futures practices into routine environments: from micro-rituals in learning and conflict-sensitive communication, to community design choices, institutional policies, and technology-enabled initiatives.
Through reflection and dialogue, participants will uncover what makes small actions sustainable, how practices can be adapted across diverse contexts, and how meaningful progress can be tracked without overburdening practitioners. The discussion will also explore how local experiences can feed back into the Atlas, enriching it as a living global resource and reinforcing its role at the heart of the Peaceful Futures Programme.
