Our emotions play a vital role in our individual and collective understanding of climate and broader ecological crises. Join One Resilient Earth, Climate Mental Health Network, and Anayennisi for a reflective dialogue and showcase of practical tools educators can use to support youth experiencing multiple climate emotions.
You’ll learn about two evidence-based frameworks designed to guide educators and their students toward emotional resilience in the face of climate change:
-The Climate Emotions Toolkit developed by Climate Mental Health Network and the National Environmental Education Foundation in the U.S.
-The CLARITY Toolbox developed by 6 EU-based partner organisations, which focuses on Learning for Transformative Climate Resilience.
These resources are part of an emerging field of work aimed at addressing the Social Emotional Learning dimension of climate change education, which is critical for mobilizing youth agency while rebuilding relationships to oneself, others and the planet. Our moderated dialogue will explore how educators can support students to honor and stay present with complex feelings, and guide them toward developing valuable experiences and skillsets for personal and collective resilience. You will be invited to share your own experiences, emotions and reflections during the event, to foster a collective field of inquiry and becoming.
