Nonviolent Communication (NVC), created by Marshall Rosenberg, is a practical approach to communicating with clarity, empathy, and honesty—especially in the chaos of school life. NVC is not a tool to make others do what you want; it’s a way to understand needs—yours and others’—and respond with connection rather than blame.
In this workshop, teachers will learn to:
• Calm ourselves first: Notice and manage our own reactions before responding.
• Understand others: Listen beyond words and behaviours to the needs of students, colleagues, and families.
• Apply NVC in the classroom: Handle conflict, frustration, and challenging situations with clarity and respect.
• Practice with real examples: Bring your own school experiences to translate judgments into observations, explore needs, and communicate requests effectively.
Through practical exercises and guided practice, participants will learn concrete strategies to reduce stress, support emotional safety, and bring more connection—and less drama—into everyday school life.
