Human Library will address how to talk and listen between adults-children. It leads to the second workshop focused on decision making together. It will explore conditions that make children’s rights a living experience, not just a political/legal problem.
This Session is an intimate, interactive space where children and adults become “living books” who share personal stories connected to child rights, participation, and democratic engagement. Drawing on the global networks of CRIA and the World Children’s Parliament, each book offers a unique window into lived experience, activism, intergenerational collaboration, and community change.
Whether you are a child, youth, or adult, you can “borrow” and “read” three human books in succession, choosing from six different books in the library. In small, 15-minute breakout readers groups, read the book together, ask questions, explore perspectives, and engage in reflective dialogue. The format is simple by design, yet deeply impactful. It encourages active listening, empathy, and genuine cross-cultural connection.
Whether you are a young person, educator, policymaker, practitioner, or researcher, this workshop offers a rare opportunity to hear very human stories, some by children and some by adults, that illuminate why child participation matters.
