Collective Learning: Getting Better at Getting Better introduces Douglas Engelbart’s ideas on augmenting human intellect and collective intelligence, with a practical focus on how teams learn, reflect, and improve together. Participants will explore the concept of the metalayer—the often-invisible layer where coordination, reflection, and knowledge capture happen—and leave with concrete ways to strengthen collective learning in their own teams or communities.
The session will:
- Distinguish individual learning from collective learning
- Introduce Engelbart’s vision of collaborative intelligence and its relevance today
– Explore how a Meta-Layer above the web can support shared sense-making, deliberation, annotation, and co-creation
