The Sociocracy in Education workshop is a hands-on introduction to the sociocratic decision-making process, applied in schools and learning communities. Sociocracy is a democratic method of governance based on dialogue and inclusion of all people in the decision-making process, in a way that all voices are heard. Decisions are made with the consent of everyone in the circle, when nobody has an objection to that proposal.
In the workshop we’ll do a presentation on sociocracy and its 4 principles, focusing on the principle of “consent”. We will then divide the participants into smaller groups to practice the sociocratic process, giving them the opportunity to facilitate the experience. This will be a space for learning through practice! We will share real topics that we collected from schools around the world, and the participants will also be invited to bring their own topics to the circle.
This workshop is a continuation of our School Circles documentary about sociocracy in schools (https://schoolcirclesfilm.com) and is adapted from our 12h Sociocracy for Schools course (https://wonderingschool.org/sociocracy-for-schools).
