Welcome to the global launch of Ethipathic! We aim to build a youth-led platform focused on on euthanasia, stigma, and sensitivity, and empower young people to understand end‑of‑life decisions, how this links to suicide stigma, and how they can promote compassionate, rights‑based, culturally aware dialogue and support.
Recent research from WHO and other international sources in 2025 show growing public support for assisted dying in some regions, despite persistent stigma, confusion, and inequities in mental health and palliative care that directly affect adolescents and their families. Furthermore, while ethical frameworks emphasize expanding palliative care and culturally sensitive end‑of‑life guidelines, youth are rarely included as informed stakeholders despite being directly affected as patients, caregivers, or bereaved.
Ethipathic aims to, through its engagement with UNESCO, UN University and other key supporteres of the Learning Planet Festival 2026, accelerate positive systems level change in this important area, as part of delivering inclusive and compassionate healthcare for all.
