Design thinking in the middle school classroom to create a new generation of changemakers

Participants will be presented with the main concepts underlying design thinking in education as well as with the necessary steps that allow teachers to guide learners in the process of designing a social impact project of their choice from beginning to end.
Attendees will be shown projects created by secondary school students on issues related to UN Sustainable Development Goals and will be invited to design a project of their own to be put into practice in their classrooms in the near future. The projects created will be shared with the rest of the audience so as to be given feedback and end the session with the best product possible to be carried out with real students in real classrooms working on real world problems.
