This video-based peacelearning experience utilizes the power of an unscripted documentary film and follows the stories of six victims of violence from across America, who embarked on a transformational trip to India, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s own journey to study nonviolence.
Attendees will consider how the practice of nonviolence (Ahimsa) can support our mental-emotional health, stress management, heal the wounds of trauma and reinvigorate conversations about peace. The documentary is followed by an introduction to a healing framework and breath-work practices for cultivating inner peace and resilience. Attendees will leave with a greater understanding of how peace begins within and guidance to apply this in everyday life (and to share with our families and communities).
This experience was co-created by Arizona State University PhD student Julie Lillie, The Peace Pad and Mandar Apte, Cities4Peace.
